Cheats and hints for the greatest game ever created

The following is an extract of the CM3 guide, available free on the internet written by Sports Interactives Marc Vaughan...

"Despite our best efforts a few cheats have been left in Championship Manager 3, these will be fixed in a future release but for the present version (3.03b as I type this) the following known cheats are present:

Release Clauses
If a player is insistent on a Minimum Fee Release clause then you can get him to accept a lower wage by adding the 'Relegation Release Clause' and 'Non-Promotion Release Clause' despite the fact that these will never be used (as the Minimum Fee Release Clause is always active).

Board Transfer Veto's
The board doesn't evaluate transfers involving part-exchange players quite correctly and the value of the part-exchange player isn't fully taken into account. This can be used to allow a manager to offer more than normal for a player without the board vetoing him.

Player Wages
Where possible always offer players a contract as a decent young player as this will usually be the cheapest salary that the player will accept. This option is of course only available for those players who are under 24 in age.

International Management
On the team selection screen when starting a game you can select to manager an international team by going to the teams Squad screen and selecting to manage them as with any other team. You can get to an international teams Squad screen by clicking on a players nationality within a player profile.

Buying on the cheap
If you have only limited transfer funds available then use the 'Fee after 10 matches' option to increase the amount you can offer without less fear of the transfer falling through. Be warned though you can bankrupt a team very easily this way.

You can use this to make huge profits in the transfer market by purchasing players a small amount up-front and a large bonus payment after 10 games and then selling after they've played 9 games. Be warned though that highly paid players will not move clubs as easily as lower paid players because only a few clubs can match their wage demands."
